Modern Roses XI says:
Flowers are 3.5 inches, single, petals scarlet with a gold eye. Slight fragrance. The foliage is dark and glossy.

Botanica’s has this to say:
This rose has proved a real sun lover, in warm climates the bright orange-yellow flowers with scarlet shading attain a size and intensity of color not so evident in Scotland. The blooms are single, and open from clusters of pointed buds to display their flamboyant tones and attractive golden stamens. The petals hold their color surprisingly well, and drop cleanly when the blooms are spent. Fragrance is slight but in all other respects is a model performer, quick to reflower, excellent for beds, borders and hedges and serviceable as a cut flower. The plant is vigorous with a bushy, free-branching habit, growing a little below average height, with dark glossy foliage. ZONES 4-9.
