Marilyn Monroe (WEKsunspat), Hybrid Tea, Apricot blend (ab) RIR score: too new to determine. Parentage: [Sunset Celebration X St. Patrick] Hybridized by Carruth Introduced in 2002 Large, pointed buds open to form large, blooms of creamy apricot with 30-35 petals and a mild citrus fragrance. The flowers are sturdy, holding shape and color well into our hot summers. Foliage is a dark, matte green on strong upright canes with lots of prickles (prune with care). Disease resistance appears good, though mine did get some botrytis blight (grey fungus) so did everything else. For the exhibitor, this rose has potential. The blooms are large sturdy and have a long vase life. The stems are also long, and the dark green really sets off the flower. As for ZONES, should be 5-9, but for us, we'll see this Spring. |
