Hot Tamale (JACpoy), Miniature, Yellow Blend RIR score: 8.2 out of 10. Parentage: Hybridized by Dr. Keith W. Zarry Introduced in 1993 These flowers are an eye-catching yellow-orange blend that age to yellow-pink providing almost an electric glow to the blooms. Flowers are long lasting, even in the midday sun of southern California. The florets have consistent large-flowered form making 'Hot Tamale' a frequent winner on the show tables. Blooms are borne mostly singly, but small clusters can develop, with 26 to 40 petals, 1.5 inches across, and slight fragrance. The foliage is a semi-glossy, dark green which is disease resistant on a compact, bushy growing plant. ZONES 5-11. |
